About me

Dott. Antonio Cozzi

Clinical psychologist and psychotherapist with an integrated cognitivist and cognitive-behavioural orientation. I offer personalised therapy for adults and adolescents, in person and online.

I graduated in Clinical Psychology at the University of Padua and specialised in Cognitive and Cognitive-Behavioural Psychotherapy (CBT). I work in private practice at my office in Padua and online.

I work with situations of distress, unease and suffering, periods of crisis or change, difficulties at work, in study and in relationships, and emotional difficulties, with particular attention to the early stages of these difficulties in adolescence. Beyond the most common forms of distress, I deal with clinical disorders, minor traumas and disorders from major trauma, obsessive symptoms and disorders, panic attacks, phobias, somatisation disorders, stress, depression, personality disorders and psychosis. Alongside psychological counselling and psychotherapy, I also offer psychological testing and assessment, support sessions for family members, psychoeducation, and the use and teaching of basic relaxation techniques.

My training, with a strong focus on clinical work and psychological disorders, has included the study of effective protocols and constant updating on scientific progress and research in psychology. During my specialisation and professional career I have integrated standard CBT practice with process-based and third-wave therapies, in particular Mindfulness and ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), Metacognitive and Metacognitive Interpersonal Therapy, and DBT (Dialectical Behaviour Therapy). I am a certified EMDR therapist, a member of the Italian Society of Psychotraumatology and, since 2014, a member of IEPA (International Early Psychosis Association).

After graduating and completing my first internships in the Psychiatry ward (SPDC) and the Mental Health Centre in Padua, I trained at the Orygen Youth Health Centre in Melbourne (Australia), an internationally renowned clinic and research centre, where I studied assessment and early intervention in psychotic onset and in the premorbid phases of psychological disorders, specialising in the care of adolescents and young adults in situations of distress or risk. I contributed to founding the Centro Adolescenza in Bassano del Grappa (ULSS 7), a service dedicated to at-risk adolescents and early psychopathology, and over the years I have worked with the Veneto public health authorities (ULSS) and local social cooperatives, combining clinical practice with research, science communication and teaching, and keeping up to date through national and international conferences.
